The Mid is not flyover territory.  It's full of fascinating people, interesting places, lots of energy... and yes, good food!   Correspondent Hannah Davis road tripped to Tulsa, Oklahoma; Wichita, Kansas; and Kansas City, Missouri to meet the folks and find out what makes them so special.  

Here in the Mid, people put faith and family first, but you're still sure to be surprised by a place drawing people to prayer.  Correspondent Jeremy Ross takes us to a unique corner in the big blue north suburbs of Chicago in Northbrook, Illinois.

While the nation debates what happens at the border, we have some insight on immigration from our friends at Civil Dialogues.  During the launch event at Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy, Civil Dialogues took on the topic of immigration and and the work force.  Panelists answered questions about what's causing so much trouble in the system, what are we supposed to do with so many people coming into the U.S., can our economy handle them, and what's the impact on wages?

Mass shootings are part of daily life in America, but Marcus Melnick, an anti-violence specialist, says gun violence is not really the problem.  He shared his perspective on what's behind all the shootings with The Mid's Head of Content Julie Weinberg... and offered some solutions.
